In less then eight years from now I will be 30 years old. That seems like such a big life step, something so far away, but I think at 22 years of age it's time to dream and try to see myself in the future. I want to live in a world far beyond what I live in now and establish a whole new world to live in. Below I've put together some lists of my dreams and aspirations for that great milestone of 30 years of age.

Family

• Met a girl that I want to spend the rest of my life with that shares my values and aspirations.
• Think about getting married and creating a more intimate relationship
• Start thinking about settling down and creating a family that would pass on the values I find so dear.

Farm

• Live in a free rural area away from the evils of the city.
• Have a little place that my family and I can call our own, beyond the control of outside forces.
• Be in control of our existence and live our lives with principles of true environmentalism.
• Raise a variety of animals from large ones like cows and horses down to small ones like chickens and goats.
• Grow a variety of crops to feed our family instead of being forced to eat food in cardboard boxes all the time.

Individual

• Be a free individual who lives his life as he sees best fit.
• Celebrate freedom and challenge myself to push to even greater heights.
• Don't be owned by any ideology, other individual, or anything else but practical limits of the natural world around me.

Politics

• Be a passionate political activist who fights for morally important causes from our backyards to the big cities.
• Challenge and further political discourse in new or exciting ways.
• Utilize the power of coalition building and large groups to get my voice heard.

Recreation

• Own a variety of machines and other things that make life and enjoyable and realistic.
• Have a good working ATV, riffle, snowmobile, pickup truck, chain saw, tractor, and other useful things.
• Avoid so-called false entertainment like artificial games.
• Get out and hike, take care of the farm, ride around, explore, hunt, challenge, write.

Technology

• Interact with new technologies in ways that can further our imaginations and our world to take us to greater possibilities without imprisoning us with the limits of mass-society.
• Avoid or don't have television and other kinds of morally corrupting canned entertainment.
• Look for ways to be enrich ourselves without damaging our environment or our individualism.

Writing

• Be a good passionate writer
• Tell the truth about all subjects of interest
• Explore and challenge the world in ways far beyond the realms of my imagination.
• Open minds to ideas not previously dreamed.

Work

• Work a challenging and ever changing job that provides for new experiences and changes the world.
• Work a job that exists without taking way too much freedom.
• Work hard but be able to come home in evenings and weekends and be able to take care of our land.
• Have enough money to finance all of my dreams.

That is a long list to complete in eight short years. Yet for an individual whom is only 22 years old, 8 years sounds like a long time away. I have no idea how much I will accomplish or how I will look back at this list, but it does reflect many of my dreams and aspirations at this particular snapshot of my life, soon to fall into distant history. Maybe much of that time will be filled with finishing up my undergraduate degree and going to graduate school, or maybe something else unexpected will happen.

Only time will show. I can hope and I can dream in peace and freedom forever.
