The Tragity of the Tet Offensive

A lot of horrible things happened in the past century. Terrorists destroy one of the great monuments of American society. Billions of people fall to living death of freedom. The holocost and World World II slaughter millions of innocent people, who were both civilian and military.

Yet none of these events can compare to the Tet Offensive (and the Vietnam war in general). By 1968 the world was spinning out of control. The only thing United in the United States was the individual.

We thought the war was over. The Vietnam war was a tragity worst then any other one our nation has evered suffered—it was truely humanity in it's darkest hour.

The world was rapidly changing. Music was changing. People were in motion. Some how, we as a nation failed to grasp the changing reality of war.

We would see on Television a war, so cruel that it would shock the American people forever.

A defeat so large, nothing has ever equaled it.

Maybe McGovern was right, about war being the tool of last resort, when all other peaceful methods fail.
