It looks like our Sr. US Senator says that we have nothing to worry about when it comes to ensuring the future of the milk income loss contract as Democrats are likely to keep it in force even past the two years when it's slated to expire in early 2008.
That's good news for our farmers. Obviously the bigger dairies, particularly those in areas that are flat and cheap to farm aren't so happy about smaller farms getting a nice little pump up by the government to keep them afloat. But unfortuantely as it stands now, we either pay that money or give up farming in our region.
