What Really Happened With Spitzer's Budget.

While for many of you it should by know be apparent, but with contentious issues like the bottle bill and the hunter/fisher snowmobile discount, the issues were simply put off for further review by legislative staff, and deal making during the rest of the session.

While there is nothing wrong with this approach, it does increase the danger that such important issues will be forgotten about. If you opposed to giving fishermen/hunters a way out of joining snowmobile clubs or think the bottle bill is a bad idea, then that's not a bad thing. But for some of that, it's somewhat of a concern that needs to be addressed in the future.

There is a lot not done both in issues relating to the budget, and to those not so related to the budget that many of us are hoping Spitzer address in the upcoming weeks remaining in session this year.

These include but are not limited to:

• Bigger Bottle Bill
• Gay Marriage
• Clean Money, Clean Elections
• Reforming Local Government/Consolidation

And many others. Those ain't easy tasks, and it will be very interesting to see how they play out in the future months.
