Individual No. 67

Thursday, January 10, 2008

Thursday Night. Spending some time blogging at the laundrymat again. Had some nice $2.99 frozen pizza and canned mushrooms I had for dinner tonight. Little more then I typically like to spend on a meal and bit more unhealthy then normal, but it's a treat.

Still have half of the 12" pizza left to be re-frozen for a future meal during the weekend. It should be good. I put a $200 check into my savings account—I'm hoping to be able to do this every paycheck this year. If I can sustain at this rate, I will with interest and my existing balance have $8460 in savings. This will help pay for my next vehicle next year should it be necessary or eventually to look at a downpayment for a house in 10 or so years.

Now that I'm settling in, and have finally started receiving my full paycheck from the state, that's what I believe I can afford. I will revise if it becomes to much of a cramp on my lifestyle, but I also like to live simply. Hopefully, within about two or three months, I won't be paying anything or very little in gas for heat, so it all will just be the cost of electric.

For the weekend, I'm thinking—emphasis on still thinking—about going camping up in the lean-to on Cotton Hill outside of Middleberg on Saturday night. I'd really like to get back to the Schoharie Valley and spend some more time in that beautiful country.

I do need to get my pickup truck's 4x4 transfer case fixed and it inspected sometime—probably the following week. Need to make an appointment soon, as Lou Automotive tends to be quite busy these days. I have about $1700 sitting in another savings account for this big expenses / emergency spending, to avoid having to deduct from my regular savings account. P'Link
