(It Was) Another Nice Day Out There

Nice Evening Out There. I actually got out of work at a reasonable hour today, and got my license back from Price Chopper that I accidentally left there on Friday. This was after leaving my entire wallet at the Bethlehem Library on Thursday evening.
I did not have a good week last week, but I am now fully recovering. My weekend was a lot of fun out in Schoharie County—sometime tomorrow or tonight I hope to post a recount of some of the things I did during the weekend. Got lots of great pictures, but not nearly enough of some of the cool places I was where I decide to spend more time hiking/crusing then stopping and playing with the lens of my camera.
I broke my laptop power adapter this weekend trying to charge my laptop in the case, about the forth or fifth time I've done that. But by using some careful wiring splicing and PVC electrical tape, I fixed it. So I am happy.
I also broke two spokes on my bicycle this weekend. I need to look around to see if I can order those spokes so I can fix the bike.
At least nothing broke on my truck this weekend, and it started up fine from camping, without needing the hot shot jump starter. I've gotten better at counting amp/hours consumed and reserve capacity, and using less energy.
It was such a beautiful weekend out in Schoharie. The people are so nice out there, and I wish I could spend more time there, and less time cooped up in an office building on the 18th floor working for the borg (ie. the State of New York). Things are so spread out there, and you start to remember how damn expensive $4.11 gallon gasoline really is in a 20 MPG pickup truck.
I'm enjoying life. P'Link
Nice Clear Day Out There. It's a bit chilly but still quite nice out there and clear. And no I'd rather not be at work right now.
It reminds me of a fall day outside, it being cooler and drier then you might expect for a late May day. I guess that's nicer then the humidity if your out and working outdoors, but probably not good for all those seeds rotting in the fields and in the greenhouses. P'Link
(It Was) Another Nice Day Out There. As you can see I enjoy titling my blog entries with the feel of the weather. Nice blue skies can have such a powerful impact on the psychie.
The weather for the weekend isn't going to be quite as nice.
I still plan to go out to Five Rivers tonight, should the weather hold up for that. I forgot to bring my camera in today to work, but I may stop home and get and ride out to the park later in the evening.
It's already getting cloudy out there.
I also have some more photos to upload from Memorial Day Weekend. Some are already up, so take a look. Still need to do a write up on what it was like on my little trip.
Today, I went to the NYS DOT to find out about Adopt-a-Highway in Voorheesville for the Boy Scouts. Lots of paperwork. It was such an incredible drive out there, I didn't want to come to work after that.
I'm not going camping this weekend.
Dunston's has the jack handle for my truck. That makes me happy. I'll have to to pick it up on Monday morning first thing at 8 AM prior to work.
We at November Reign (Assembly CIS) kicked ass at the softball game yesterday against the Department of Labor (I think). Honestly, actually I don't remember after 4 or 5 beers, but I did find my way safely back to the bus stop, loaded my bike up, and then back home.
I could use some beer about now. You? Enjoy your weekend, starting with a little ...

Out in the Country (Soon). Actually, today I was in a place called old Niskayuna, which sounds a lot more pretentious then it really is. It's actually a quite beautiful place in Schenectady, with many old houses along lush tree lined streets, with decent mass transit access.
I was helping out Phil Steck doing a lit drop for him. It took me a while to settle on supporting him, but I was quite impressed with his positions over all on some of the issues facing us. There are many talented candidates running for Congress, but I particularly like him.
Tomorrow I'm still undecided. I might do some more lit dropping, but then I want to go out to Partridge Run for a bit. I need to return to those open spaces, it's been almost 6 days since I've been out there.
I'm hoping to ride my bike out to Five Rivers tonight, once the nasty storm front that's currently coming through fully passes by. I want to do some more pictures. The lightening right now is pretty impressive.
I need some fresh air, and I need to get away from all this urban humidity and noise.
Out In The Country
Three Dog Night (1971)Whenever I need to leave it all behind
Or feel the need to get away
I find a quiet place, far from the human raceOut in the country
Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the nighttime
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'
Whenever I feel them closing in on me
Or need a bit of room to move
When life becomes too fast, I find relief at lastOut in the country
Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the nighttime
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'
Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the nighttime
Out where the rivers like to runI stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'
Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the nighttime
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'
Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the nighttime...I stand alone...
Tonight I am going to spend some time listening to more podcasts, and doing a little bit more writing. I actually haven't written any of the fodder for the month of June yet. I also want to "write" a new internal feature for the NY Cowboy blogging software, and hope to transition back to my old style of blogging (ie. without all of the links).
Yes, I've been causing trouble on the DFHMR e-mail list and other places. I like being a professional iconoclast, and picking on the poor suburbanite souls in the world, especially those with Breslin in their last name.
Have a good weekend. P'Link
