Air Conditioning is Nice. I forgot what a luxury it was to be sitting in a nice cool air conditioned building all day, until I got home from work and sat out on a hot humid patio with Bethlehem Neighboors for Peace. It wasn't nice.
I'm now in the chilly Bethlehem Public Library, but realize that I will have to go home in a little while at 9 PM and back to my rather warm apartment. Then I'll go for the evening walk—after dark, and hopefully feel some kind of cool breeze. P'Link
Enjoying the Black Stetson. Some people would think my black wool-felt cowboy hat would be a lot warmer then the white pulled-straw hat that a lot of cowboys like to wear. Honestly though I don't like my own pulled-straw one—it's simply too hot and lacks the sweat absorbing ability of the wool-felt.
In the heat, the first and foremost thing you want is the sweat to be pulled away from your body. That's the natural cooling mechanism all humans have. The black hat probably would be hot if I was working outside in the bright sun, but now it's evening.
Then again, if I was serious about working I'd probably just wear a baseball cap—but they don't give much neck protection from the sun if your going to be out in the sun all day long.
Plus I like black better then white.

Still A Sweltering Night Out There. Yes, I'm hiding out that the public library once again trying to stay a bit cool. The heat is a bit obnoxious, but they are promising that tommorow's weather will be a lot nicer.
Today was a committee day at the legislature. I had to dress up but didn't have to do all the normal session things. Wednesday and Thursday are session days. Need to get some petition signatures tommorow night and go to the DFHMR meeting, assuming I get out a reasonable hour.
I need to bring my truck into the city, simply because I don't know when I will get out for sure. It's a bummer, but there ain't nothing I can really do about it. I will leave it parked there until either Thursday or Friday, depending if I decide to go out camping this weekend. Weather looks good for camping, if I decide to pony up the big bucks for gas (which I might need by weekend end if I go camping).
Today I felt like trying to figure out how to radically redesign my blog's appearance. Like most schemes drawn out on paper when I was bored, it was bound to fail. And it did.
$4.25 a gallon gas really sucks. P'Link
Nice Clear Day Out There. But it promises to get hazy out. Today's a session a day so I had to wear my suit in and it was fun loading my bike on and off the bus with a suit on.
This evening, when I get out at a reasonable hour, I'm going to go out and do some petitioning for David Weiss in Colonie, and maybe play softball with the work team.
Still debating on the going camping this weekend question. It's going to be hot, but I sure want to get away. Nowheres too far, but it would be nice to get out of town for a couple of days.

Happy Friday the 13th. I am scared. I don't like today, even if it beautiful weather out there. Just had the Dunkin' Donuts I brought to work for our breakfast—they were good, but all very sugary.
I'm still hungover from last night's November Reign game and the five or six beer I had in quite rapid sucession. We won though, and I found the bus home. That's what's important.
Today I rode my bike into work. It was nice, but I need to go and ride back to my truck to take it home tonight. It was fun.
I'm not going camping this weekend. I am going to get more signatures tommorow, and probably camp over night at my parents house on Saturday. No decisions have been made for sure yet—although I'm not going camping out in Schoharie County this weekend. Maybe in two weeks.
Next weekend is the Clearwater Festival at Croton-on-Hudson. Should be fun.

Summertime. It is here once again, with lots of hazy-hot-humid weather. It's cloudy and pretty oppressive out there, as the last weekend prior to the official start of the summer season.
I've been spending a lot of time thinking about the primaries and who I will be supporting. I'm still not totally sure, and as much may just start abstaining from political activism for the next few weeks. I'm rethinking my political commitments, as it seems whoever I support I seem to alienate one person or another.
This weekend is not as deadly hot as the previous weekend, but still a bit uncomfortable. I'm enjoying lots of cold lemonade with ice cubes in it, and trying to stay cold by hanging out in the library or soon camping out at parent's house.

Laundrymat Blogging. Mainly because I don't have anything else to do right now. I am still really enjoying that Johnny Rivers song I linked to earlier. That is great music.
It's so humid and rainy out there. I had hoped to go camping, at least in the backfield a ways from my parents house, but it's not happening with the rain. So I'm stuck in Delmar, and glad I didn't make the serious investment to drive out to my favorite place in Schoharie County.
Maybe June 26-June 29 or so I will go camping, unless I decide to go to the David Soares for DA fundraiser and cause trouble with the working families people.
I've been exploring some new and interesting podcasts. There is a lot you can find—on almost every topic—by searching what you want plus "podcast" on the google. Podcasting is great—you can burn it to a CD-RW and take it with you in the truck, play it as you sit around the campfire, or almost any other place you'd want to go. P'Link
