Boondocks is about farms, rural life, and power toys.
Energy looks at high energy prices and our future.
Enviroman looks at man and the environment.
Hayseeds looks at politics and life in our nation.
Outblog is all about my outdoor experiences.
Transit looks at the changing ways we get around.
Truck gives you stories and trips in my Ford Ranger.
New Aussie Sedder. My parents adopted a new dog yesterday. I haven't met it yet, but she is apparently a very nice dog. A picture:

Not only is she cute, but she's pretty smart, likes to be around people, and fairly small. That isn't a bad thing when you have somebody riding in the passenger seat of your Ford Ranger's cab and the dog in the middle. P'Link
Death Counts and Joan Baez. I was listening to the radio this afternoon for a while and the first thing that came on the news, as so often is the case, was the death count over in Iraq. The war in Iraq is so profoundly sad, yet it seems so common place in our lives.
So I was listening to Joan Baez and the song Blessed Are for a little while...
Blessed are the one way ticket holders
on a one way street.
Blessed are the midnight riders
for in the shadow of God they sleep.
Blessed are the huddled hikers
staring out at falling rain,
wondering at the retribution
in their personal acquaintance with pain.
Blessed are the blood relations
of the young ones who have died,
who had not the time or patience
to carry on this earthly ride.
Rain will come and winds will blow,
wild deer die in the mountain snow.
Birds will beat at heaven's wall,
what comes to one must come to us all.
And thinking about all the countless hours I've spent on the street corners in Bethlehem protesting this injust and immoral war. Always wondering why I have to stand out in the cold. Why can't I be just like all those other people who just drive by, and look at us like some kind of leftist freaks.
People die all the time. Why does this war bother me so much? I'm not one of those old left-wingers, am I? I guess I can't understand why so many people are dying for no reason. P'Link
Tough New Anti-SPAM Policy. I'm tired of getting so much e-mail SPAM and so much comment SPAM on New York Cowboy.org. Therefore:
Those are some tough rules, that will mean some lost emails. I applogize, but that's the only way I can handle all the email burden I'm getting lately. P'Link
Today on Plattsburgh Progressive Radio: The Decline of the American Family Farm. At 11 AM, on WQKE 93.9 FM Plattsburgh we will be discussing the story of how Keith Hammond lost his farm due low milk prices, Congresswomen-elect Kirsten Gillibrand's agricultural platform, smart growth, and sprawl.
This is one of the issues I'm most passionate about, and I think it is a very important topic to talk about. Please listen in, and feel fee to drop me your comments by AIM at: WQKERadio. P'Link
