66 Miles on My Bike. That's how far I've gone since getting it on Wednesday, doing nearly 11 miles in the morning then 21 in the afternoon on Sunday. The amount of beautiful country around is amazing. You just seem to miss and forget so much just driving around the cab of your truck.
Physically I haven't done enough to feel much impact, though I guess I'm a bit stronger on the hills. Regardless of my shape, biking is getting me out farther and with less stress on feet in a limited amount of time. In what I can do hiking in an hour, I can go roughly 3-4 times farther on my bike.
So what did I see? I saw a farmer mending a fence, a road milled for repaving, lots of small farms and cows, rolling country, and many sunsets. I stopped at the Greenville Town Park and sat back looking at the swan, thinking back to the days of ol'. I saw many Silverado pickup trucks. Amazed. P'Link
Also On Acme Mapper. Take a look at my house on Acme Mapper in both topo and relatively high resolution overhead pictures. P'Link
Tonight's Bike Ride. I went for a 19 mile bike ride out to Grapeville from my house. You can see the route I took on ACME Mapper. My neighboor Justin followed along and managed to be a real pester.
Usually around H there are nice views of the Catskills, but very hazy. There was a bunch of Angus cattle grazing in a field around D. The area around F is pretty nice with rolling farm country and pretty flat terrian. A warm evening out, but like most evenings already was losing most of the heat of the day. P'Link
Suburbian Delmar Ride. Went for a 10 mile bike ride last night at Delmar. That brought my odometer up to 96 miles, and I reached 100.2 by riding up and down my road to make it flip over. Exchanged my purchased-as-broken light for the bike, so I was able to ride at night and got my money's worth.
See the route. Started at J the house of the disabled kid I work with on Tuesday evenings. Headed out towards Five Rivers, difficult to cross the streets around B at rush hour. Around Five Rivers (C) there were many impressive new houses being built—and many where even far more done then I was a few areas around.
Meads Road (D) was as beautiful as it always is with the Heledebergs in the near background and farmland on both sides of the road. There was several hereford cows grazing on grass on a distant hill, and it had started to cool down by now. The farm next to the Bethlehem High (E) was spreading manure on their fields after finally getting cut so late. Then I got lost heading back in that suburbia area from F-J, ending up for a while near the Junior High School. P'Link
Didn't Go Camping, Went for a Bike Ride. Lost my debit card, so I had to clear up that mess, and stayed home. Left around 7:30 PM for a nice bike ride. Went out to Hannicroix and Grapeville—see my route. Got back around 10 PM, riding in the dark with the headlight on my bike.
Returned home. It was a very enjoyable ride. P'Link
South Westerlo and Greenville Bike Ride. I went for a nice little ride on both Sunday and Monday nights of almost the same route so I will discuss it by following this map.
Also did a similiar ride on Monday evening. As of Monday evening, I have ridden 174 miles or roughly the distance from my house to Plattsburgh. P'Link
