Albany Pine Bush - West Barens Blue Trail. Hiked around main trail in West Barrens. Nice trail. Sandy soil, lots of scruffy pine trees (just like the photos you see of it). Part of it runs near the Thruway and Rt 155—not exactly what I call quite or natural like. Area smells like lechete, from our favorite Rapp Road Landfill. Saw a Blue Karner butterfly (or so it would seem). Went off trail (bad Andy), to get a closer peak at what they are dumping in the landfill (looks like mostly construction debris—it appears to be lots of poly?) Ended up near SEFCU—hiked back around (cutting over white/red trails), not realizing that I was so close to my car around. P'Link
